Dear McKinney Bible Church,
We are glad to write again and hope in the Lord everybody is doing fine. Well we have been studing the Bible with two families (Hector and Rosalba and his son Hector Jr. and her daughter Alondra and another couple Manuel and Carmen and a woman from Cave Junction whose name is Maria). As you know, sometimes the seeds we plant fall in good soil and sometimes not and this was not an exception; Manuel and Carmen quit studying with us after a trip they made to Mexico where the enemy worked hard and through their family they were discourage to continue studying the Bible because we were not Catholics. As of Maria she called us saying that she was having lots of trouble with her husband because she was studying the Bible and that for the moment she wasn't going to be able to continue studying with us. Please pray for her salvation because she is truly living a very sad life in her marriage.
The good news is that Hector and Rosalba both have received Christ as their savior and they have asked to be baptized, something that we are planning to do as soon as the water gets a little waaaarmer here in the Rogue river where we usually celebrate baptisms. Please keep praying for the maturity of these new believers and for the salvation of their son and daughter.
We just had the visit of Joel, Amy and Sara Hernandez from Guanajuato, we had a great time with them receiving some teaching and enjoying some of the music he plays with his guitar. It was really a great time having them visiting Oregon but it was a shame that they could only stay here for three days because they were heading to Emmaus Bible College where he was going to translate some conferences in Spanish. We are also expecting my parents (Alejandro) from Mexico, they are arriving on June 29th , please pray for a safe trip for them.
Changing the topic, we want to ask for your prayers because our visas expire in the month of August and we are waiting for a decision from the government to extend our visas for two more years, decision that should come soon. If the Lord grants us this extension, we are planning to move to Grants Pass, where we are planning, the Lord willing to help Bard and Pam to establish leadership in that church too. We are happy about how the elders (Beto and Honorato and family) and deacon (Meño) are working here, growing and maturing each day in the things of the Lord. If for any reason we don't get our extension, we don't have a plan B yet (Oh, oh!), so please pray for us that the Lord would lead our way.
Well, we want to thank you for all your prayers and support and tell you that you are always in our prayers too.
With love in Christ our Lord,
Family Chavez
